Main achievements so far:
May 2009
- No Hackney High-Rise (NHH) forms in response to Southern Housing Group’s (SHG) first presentation of the proposed tower at 22-44 London Lane
- NHH meet with local Queensbridge councillors to seek advice on how to oppose the scheme
- Website is launched
June 2009
- NHH appoints Louise Morton as their planning consultant
- NHH organises second public consultation meeting with SHG and consultants at Hot House
- NHH forges links with the Greater London Authority (GLA), Hackney Planning Department, the Hackney Society and other local community groups
July 2009
- WIth guidance from our Planning Consultant, a formal response is made to the London Development Framework (LDF) Core Strategy by ourselves and the following groups: Lonfest, Lonfest ADC, London Fields Solutions (LFS), Ellingfort Creative Partnership (ECP),Vanguard House Residents & other local NHH residents.
August 2009
- £580 raised to date towards fees for planning consultant
September 2009
- NHH Planning consultant drafts a formal response to the scheme as it stands which was sent to Southern Housing Group (SHG). Read it here

- £780 raised so far towards fees for planning consultant.
December 2009
- Reply drafted to London Plan read it here
January 2010
No High-rise Cabaret, 170 people attended in support of No Hackney High-rise. All the acts and everyone involved worked for free. £1300 raised to help pay our planning consultant’s fees in opposing tower at 19 London Lane E8 3PR.
